Welcome to South Herts Radio. Our aim is to bring you a local
and international radio station dedicated to the real free radio enthusiast. We feature our own specially made programmes from
the south Hertfordshire community of the UK combined with sponsored shows for a global audience. SHR prides itself in
broadcasting content tributing the pioneers of pirate and offshore radio. DX material and supported
'radio related' shows are also broadcast. We make and produce programmes relevant to the areas we serve featuring
music, promoting local events, and plugging local artists and presenters by broadcasting their material on international
platforms like the internet and shortwave radio. Specialist
music programmes are also broadcast.
SHR has a large
archive of original and restored content from offshore and land based pirate radio including recordings
from some legitmate stations of the past. We recognise the dedicated worldwide following for this kind of radio
and we are happy to re-broadcast content from these stations on our network as a tribute to them.
SHR is a privately
funded organisation with limited advertising and sponsorship. More details can be found on our about page.
